A Possible iphone hack

What is in this blog entry is comply just a theory that I cooked up in my head when I found out that there was a kill switch that apple had made for the Iphone to kill any app on a phone remotely. So no of this is true as far as I know.

So now this is what I was thinking, last week I believe it was that apple admitted that there is a kill switch deep inside the iphones OS that allows them to kill any app remotely on the iphone. Now what I was thinking is what if someone were to hack apple and get a holed of this kill switch wouldn’t it be possible for the hacker to start messing with so enterprise level stuff like they showed in Steve’s key note back at WWMC I believe it’s called, that they were showing businesses using it well what if one of the apps is mission critical for them and they wake up and its gone from the phone.

I was also thinking could this kill switch kill other apps than the third party apps like the Ipod part that’s just really an app on there so you can get your music that is on the hardware could the hacker also take that off to making so you can’t lessen to your music of podcast or whatever you do with the ipod part.

Now I’m sure I’m just being paranoid and most of this couldn’t happen but the Iphone and the Ipod touch are both running an OS which means some ware deep inside its code is some kind of exploit just waiting to be found and exploited.

Podcasting

Podcast or Netcast whatever you want to call them they have started to make a change I think for the better or at least for the people that miss Tech TV. I was one of the thousands that were sadden when G4 took over and killed all the good shows on there. I think the only show that aired on Tech TV that is still there is Wired for Sex (Surprise Surprise).

Thank god Leo Laporte started twit and also thank god for Revion 3. I don’t know what I would do without thoughts pod casting networks I would drive myself crazy and I would not know most of the stuff that I know now. I watch more podcast more than I do TV now I find pod cast are a lot more convenient then TV cause I just turn on Itunes and its downloaded to my computer and I can watch them whenever I want. I myself normally watch my podcast when I’m eating breakfast normally things like the chris Pirillo show and Techzilla.

Though I see a down side to it I find is that pod cast are just like blogs but more annoying in the wrong hands. Cause of the fact that pod cast are so easy to make that means that any dumb ass can say what they want and normally do have their facts striate. That’s really the down side I think to podcast but as long you stick with figures or networks that you know and trust like CNET or soon to be called NBCNET you will fine and won’t really hear from them or other networks that you trust from TV.

Go to your Itunes or whatever is your favorite RSS reader and subscribe to shows that seem to interest you. At this point there is millions of them so I’m sure you will be able to find something and you will never have to surf around your TV to find something to watch again.

Computers For The Old

A week ago I believe I talked about how my grandfather got a computer. Well it has been about a week later and he loves it. My grandma has been telling me that he has been getting up at 8 A.M to get on the computer. At this point my grandpa know ‘s more about the computer than my mom dose who uses computers every night at her job. I just found that funny.

My point is that most older people don’t think that they can use a computer. When you say computer they think of the old like punch card mashies. You just have to show them how easy they are to use. I just think that it is better for a older person to have a computer just cause it makes things a lot easier for older people. For example things like paying bills ordering medicine and in some cases even get groceries.

I really think that if you have someone in your family that is older and they don’t think they could ever use a computer you should find some way to let them use one and show them to that it is easy. So computers can be used by all you just got to know how to back up so if you mess up you can go back.

What Will happen When 7 Is Here

Every now in then late at night I start thinking about random things like what will happen to vista when windows 7 comes out. I heard some ware that windows 7 is going to be more business orated. That made me think that maybe windows Vista will still have life after 7.

Let me explained, I think when windows 7 comes out that most of the people that are going to be upgrading to windows 7 will be enterprise. Wile the rest of use (the consumers) will be happy with vista and wont see any reathen to upgrade to windows 7.

What I'm saying is windows 7 will be the OS for enterprise and vista will be the OS for the rest of us. That's how I think it will be. But just like any thing elts in tech you never know.

A Lay Out For Facebook

Facebook this week came out with there new layout. Witch really isn't that grate or different from what I can see. The only different that I can see is that it looks longer that's all. There really isn't that much to say about it. I really don't like Facebook I use it I just like myspace over Facebook. That's about all I have to say about the new Facebook look. I will just end by saying that the myspace layout looked a lot better.

A New Computer

Today I went with my grandparents to get there first computer and boy was that fun. We went to circuit city to get it it was a Compaq pasarieo laptop. Getting it wasn't that bad other than I  miss read the thing I found on there site. I thought it was $499.99 but that was with a rebate. It turned out to be around $600.00 so there was a slight error there with that.

Like I said before they got a Compaq its running a Intel Pentium duel cor prosseser with 2 GB of RAM. It works pretty good for a laptop or maybe that's cause I'm use to this one witch I can never say is the best laptop ever. But it dose get my work done and school work so its not that bad.

Trying to teach them things was hard though cause what they want to do is things on the Internet. I just don't want to be telling them things they wont ever remember or use. So I showed them how to do a few things in Word and how to turn it on and off that's about it. It was really even harder to cause I had maybe 3 house of sleep.

Now as they say they are now part of the 21st century. They just need to get on the Internet witch will be soon and I can help a lot more.

The Mega Blog

I have just made some changes to the blog that I've wanted to make for awhile to make this truly a tech blog. This is now the Mega tech blog. I thought it was time to get rid of any thing that you could tell that this was a personal blog. I' am in hopes to be abel to do more vids on this site and do more pod castes with my good friend the Vixy. So I hope you like the new Mega tech blog.

Windows Vista SE

I’ve been thinking for awhile now about windows 7 and what it might be like. I really been thinking that it would be like windows 98 SE. Why you might ask. Well it really hasn’t been that long since Vista came out. So I figured that windows 7 is going to fix all the problems with Vista and add things to it to make it the OS that it should have been out of the box. When I was thinking of doing this blog entry I thought I would e-mail Paul Thurrott from the supper site for windows. Surprising to me he responded to my e-mail.

Hey Paul I just wanted to ask you you think on something. I've been thinking about windows vista and windows 7. MY question to you is do you think that windows 7 is going to be more like windows 98 SE in scenes that its not going to change anything that its just going to be a really big update that’s going to cost a lot of money to just fix some of the problems with windows vista now and add some new things to it. I mean it just doesn't seem like something all that existed to get when it comes out like I was when windows vista came out.

I think it's going to be like Windows Vista in reverse. (Bear with that one for a sec.)
In other words ... Windows Vista completely changed the underlying Windows platform but provided a UI and experience that was much like its predecessor. To the user, Vista isn't a huge upgrade, but the reality is that the underlying platform has completely changed.
Windows 7 will utilize this new Vista-based platform but will likely be a dramatically different OS from a user experience standpoint, hopefully with at least an improved if not completely new shell. There will be a ton of new applications and functionality.
I guess Windows 7 could never have happened without Windows Vista, but Windows Vista will never get the respect it deserves for getting the hard part done and taking the ensuing lumps.

I think after reading that has me thinking a little bit more of windows 7. I just hope it doesn’t get the rap that vista got or even cause of vista that it doesn’t just get looked over. I think that would be an awful shame.

Iphone 2.0 hacked maybe not so good???

Well I know that at this point I know this old new that the iphone 2.0 has been hacked. Is it just me or dose it just not make sence to hack the 2.0 software it dose everything you want it to do in the first place why do people need to hack to install apps I mean this just opens the door I think to problems. I think the first time it was hacked with the 1.0 software it was a good thing but now that the iphone and ipod touch can install apps now I think it will be time for the hackers to start doing mulish us things to it and I think it will become the windows of phones. People will have to worry about viruses on your phone. Though it wouldn’t be a new things there already viruses for cell phones out there just hasn’t been a huge out brake yet.

I just think that the iphone is just a setup for a big out brake of a viruses. The army is even using it what other reathen would there be for other country that hate us to come up with a hack or a viruses that would fuck with though. I think it’s something that people should keep in mind. So don’t freak out just be cautious and always be alert cause it could happen.

Back-Up People

Late this morning I posted a video with my good friend thevixy having problems trying to get into OS X on her mac book. But she could get into Windows XP on her mac book. There are only 2 things I can think of one that a system file in OS X got corrupted and all she has to do is reinstall OS X or a sector on the OS X partion is broke witch she could use spin rite to fix if she has an extra $90 laying around.

This though is why I always like to back up things. once a month I always back up everything I can on to a DVD. Every week I back up important files to  windows live sky drive. Why you may ask, well cause its 5 GB for free so that's enof for me to back up all my blog entry's to it and other small files that I need or want and they are always there when I want them. Though I find it kind of funny to that the other day that I was watching System and they were showing how to turn a old computer into a free NAS (Network Attached Storage) witch is a good way to back up your data because it is a on site back so then it only takes as long as it takes to transfer files over your network.

So please people for your own sake and the safety of your data back it up. If its picks got windows live photo gallery and back them up to flickr. just back up then when your computer just stops working one day it wont matter as much cause you will have your data some place safe and ware you can get to it.

TWIT LIVE APP

Today I woke up and looked at the RRS feed reader in my windows live mail app and there was a thing from Leo's blog about a AIR app that some one made and I have to say this is the best use of adobe air since TWIRL. Its really simple you install it and there is Leo's video feed there is also a tab that has a schedule that shows when he dose his shows. Good Bye Bill

Well I’m sure everyone knows now that Bill gates last day at Microsoft was Friday. Some people are saying this is a bad thing but I think that this is really good thing. I think this just means that we will so more things that we would have never had seen with bill there.

Though he is retired he will still be there. He is still part of the board of directors I believe so its not like he completely gone, he will still have a say in things with the company. He just wont have the say that he once had in making the software. He was head software Developer or something like that I believe was his title there.

Well I think this is a start of a new beginning for Microsoft. They been kind of taking a little bit of a slump in the last few years but I think this is there chance to change all that around. They have new and initiative things coming out like Live Mesh witch I think will change the way people think about and interact with computers. So cheers to Microsoft to a new beginning.

2 Windows

Back when windows 98 was king there was really two windows. Windows 98 and windows NT. 98 was the consumer version of windows and windows NT was the enterprise version. But when windows XP came out they combined the two cereals.

The point I’m trying to get at is why they would do that. They should go back to only having two cereals, a consumer version and a enterprise version. The consumer version could have things like the windows live sweet and Microsoft works. Then the enterprise version of windows could have stuff like Office and all the things enterprise users need to get there work done.

I got a lot of this from listening to windows weekly and when Paul was talking about I was just sitting here thinking “I want that” it was like as if I woke up from one of those dreams that are so good you think its real until you wake up and look around and think DANM it was just a dream. I just really think that marketing is getting in the way of what consumers want.

Windows XP

Well Friday was Bill gates last day at Microsoft. He retired the 3^rd richest person in the world. Though he will still be at Microsoft after t Friday but he won’t have the say like he once did. But Monday is the last day you will see Windows XP on store shelves. But there road map for windows XP has changed for the better and you can read about it at the supper site for windows.

Well what I really want to say in this post is good bye windows XP. I will miss your weird colored task bar and start menu. I will miss how you anoid me with highlighting programs I just installed and most of all I will miss how when I plugged an old peace of hardware in you I never had to worried if it was going to work. But really I’m not going to miss XP all that much when I go to school and I have to use XP I miss Vista because my teacher tells me to find Photoshop and I cant find but I muddier to my self well if the school would just upgrade to danm Vista I could just type in “Photoshop” and what would pop up in the start menu oh my god Photoshop.

So for the last time good by windows XP I won’t really miss you that much. I just want to say I’m not saying that Vista is perfect by and stretch of the imagination but its good enof for me, for what I use it for at least.

My Worries About Cloud Computing

Every ware I look lately I keep hearing about cloud computing. The more I think of it, it kind of worries me. If you don’t know what I’m talking about cloud computing is the assentive to try and make the browser your most important appellation and your only application on your computer.

Now you’re probely asking why would anyone want to do that? Well there are a few reathens why people would like to have that. The rather is so that any ware you go you can always have your apps and files every ware you go.

But you see having everything on the internet kind of scares me. I just see a security disaster happening now if this truly happens. I mean with this whole cloud computing thing we are talking about entire operating systems. Just think Windows on the internet its unsecure now how many times do you think windows will be down then. Things going down if all your files and for business appellations on the internet there will be more incentive to bring down web servers and then what… nothing that’s what businesses wont be able to function losing millions if not billions from this.

Well I do think cloud computing is a really good idea. Like I have just said I have some worries about it. I it will be along time before this becomes a reality but I hope along the way developers think about some of these things. I really hope this happens I just think right now I feel safer having things on my local hard drive.

Ustream a mess

I to say something’s are just falling a part lately I’ve notice. Is it really that hard these days to up date things that are critical to a business.

Number one Ustream.tv what is going on with it lately. It just seems to be falling apart. So it seems. I was at Iellie’s ustream room when she was trying to do her give and you can hear more about how that went at her web site. But what was happening was ustream was crashing Fire fox and safari. I just couldn’t use ustream on fire fox 3 RC2 and others had the same problem using fire fox 2. I finally had to switch to IE 7 wile I like IE 7 over past Versions of IE I still don’t like switching out of no ware. Well it turns out that what the problem is and what windows ended up telling was it was a problem with flash. From what I’ve been hearing is that Ustream.tv just hasn’t updated there flash so when you try to watch a show on ustream and your using the newer flash and ustream is encoding in the last version its causing these browsers to crash. All I have to say is ustream update flash.

I loved ustream when I used them and the problem I really had with them was that it no one was there like they are on stickam. I’m not saying though that stickam is perfect but it works for me and I just really hope that one day the bugs will be fixed and it will be more popular so I can return.
